As a Paramedic out on the road you get to work with a wide variety of healthcare professionals. These range from your colleagues of Emergency Care Assistants, Technicians, Paramedics and CCPs, through to Home Carers, Professional Carers and Nurse Carers out in care homes.

When you go into hospital with you patient, if your patient needs to go, you deal with nurses, doctors and consultants, maybe radiographers. You also deal with GPs and nurse practitioners.

Part of being a Paramedic and getting the best care for your patient is to refer them, it's not just to pick them up take them to hospital you need to go into their assessment a lot more and think about their treatment and quite often that involves referring them to specialist care rather than just taking them into A&E.
