Where to study Social Work

Leo a social work student talks about why he chose to study social work at UWE

Where to study Social Work

Well obviously I am not from this part of the world. Initially I started to find out a little bit about England and about different parts of England and I know somebody who had lived in Bristol for a couple of months and very much recommended it as being a good place to come and a good place to live and a good place to go out in which is very important I think.

I concentrated my focus on Bristol and I came over to Bristol just for a couple of days just to check it out and see what the place was like and I was lucky enough to through talking to people in the pub one night about universities and things like that, I spoke to them about what their experiences were and what they knew about the place and stuff like that and there are obviously two major universities in Bristol but they had been to the University of the West of England and had highly enjoyed it and thought it was a really good place to be. The teaching was very good and practically they said it was the better. So that's of the reasons I chose UWE really having just kind of seen it and I also had a visit out here just to see what it was like and I liked the actual campus out here and it seems to have quite a good reputation so that's one of the reasons why I chose it.
