There are many different entry routes into a career in the NHS or healthcare sector. The NHS and health sector values and looks for it's employees to have a range of qualifications and experience to ensure a diverse workforce in all career paths.
Some jobs will require professional registration such as nursing and physiotherapy and you will have to gain this through achieving a degree at a university. Other will not require a degree, and will depend on other qualifications you have and any experience that you have gain in the work place.
Many people who start working for the NHS have come straight from school, college or university and are just starting out on their chosen career paths. Other people may have worked for years in a different sector and decide on a career change when they come and work for the NHS.
